There is seldom holidays to Yiwu merchants in Yiwu International Trade City except Spring Festival. Yesterday, some merchants from Yiwu Futian International city told the reporters that everything was normal from October 3 and many customers of Middle East, America and Europe came here and tourists from Shanghai and Hangzhou brought much good to the market.
Yesterday, Mr. Chen in No 3 district of No 2 areas in Yiwu International Trade City who is doing zipper business met the Jordan customer and after discussing he offered him 50,000 pieces. Then another customer from Shanghai paid much attention to some kinds of products, and then Mr. Chen gave him a quotation and exchanged business cards.
Mr. Chen said that they do business as usual during the National Day holiday, it was not good as usual for the first 2 days, but when October 3, and it became better. “Other people were free for holiday and have a travelling, but it was ok if business was good enough”, said Mr. Chen. Reporters found that on October 1, many shops were closed and some were closed at 3pm for a short rest then came back to normal work.
Yesterday, reporter met a Shanghai tourist Mr. Wang in toy sales floor. Mr. Wang said that he heard Yiwu as “Ocean of commodities, Paradise for purchasing” and travelled to Yiwu with family during the holiday. When seeing the reporter concentrated on the RC aircraft in his child’s hands, he explained that it was 90 Yuan. “It is cost over 150 Yuan out of here, so it is really cheap”.
