Yiwu has close economic and trade exchanges with Taiwan. According to statistics, at present, Yiwu has 54 Taiwan-funded enterprises, more than 230 trade offices, more than 2000 permanent businessmen in Yiwu. Wenzhou is the nearest port from Taiwan province, and is the second port city which opened direct flights of Zhejiang province. According to reports, back in August 2009, with transportation approval, Wenzhou and Ningbo achieved direct flights. But limited by road condition and customs policy constraints, Yiwu small commodity has not been able to Taiwan fromm Wenzhou.

Zheng shener who is one of the manager do business with Taiwan, yesterday said, exampled as Shanghai sea transportation, the goods from Yiwu to Taiwan passed by Hangjinqu high speed to Shanghai exit, about 360 kilometers, the transportation expenses of 2950 yuan. And it start from Wenzhou, total distance of 280 kilometers, the transportation expenses of 2600yuan. Wenzhou shipped to Taiwan only 10 hours, it will more convenient to import goods from Yiwu.
Yiwu commodity export to Taiwan, mainly pass by Ningbo and Shanghai before. And after the sign of ECFA on June 29th of last year, Taizhou started firstly to open the trade corridor from “Yiwu-Taizhou-Taiwan”, a new silk road formed in our province.
A data shows that, as of now, Taizhou direct flights to Taiwan passengers close to 6 million total, growth of more than 2 times.
