Yesterday, reporters informed from the Ministry of Communication that in order to improve road conditions, the program of widening between Hangzhou Hongken and Jinhuaof Hangjinqu freeway had got the permission and made public tender on September 25. It began in Hangzhou hub and ended by Jinhua, totally 150.8 kilometers long and 42 width. On the based roadbed, It would be broadened to double-side with eight traffic lanes and 120 kilometers per hour, the total investment is 6.82 billion Yuan and would started in the next half year of 2011.
The HangJinqu Freeway was built in 1999 and finished on Sep 22, 2003 and it was the traffic artery connected Zhejiang and Zhangzhou and Shanghai. With the development of the economy, cars going through the freeway have increased by 10%, each day there would be 40,000 cars and became one of the busiest freeways in Zhejiang. The normal 28 widths and double-side with four lanes Hang Jinqu could not bear it, especially from Xiaoshan to Jinhua, usually bad traffic. After rebuilding, Hang Jinqu would be the second double-side with eight lanes freeway after Hu Hangyong freeway in Zhejiang province.
