Recently, temperature in Yiwu remains high. People here can't stand the sustained high temperature, so they are looking ofr a way to spend their holiday.
Students busy taking exercise
On July 7, when the reporter arrives at Yiwu No.3 Middle School, a group of students are playing basketball in spite of the hot weather. A basketball training camp is being held here. A student with the first name Lou told the reporter that he is 11 years old now and is a huge fan of playing basket ball. Since there is lots of spare time in summer vacation, he comes here every day to participate in the basketball training.
At a gymnasium on downtown, the reporter also sees many students. Following a cocach, they are now taking body building exercise, and then practicing sports apparatus, streaming with sweat, A student, who just finished the university entrance examination, wiped away sweat and told the reporter:" Before the examination, I was so busy learning and had no time to keep fit. Now it's over, I plan to spend a two-whole-month here."
Children of immigrant workers going back to hometown for summer holiday
Summer vacation! To children of immigrant workers, they, like migratory birds, have to go back to their faraway hometown to spend their holiday, for their parents have little time to look after them because of trying to make a living. When the downtown children enjoy the cool weather brought by air conditioners, children of immigrant workers are carrying their traveling bags, following their representative and forcing their way into the train on the weltering hot day.
College students busy taking part-time jobs
Distributing leaflets and conducting cocial surveys used to be good choices for college students as a part-time job. But after the interview, the reporter finds thses jobs are no longer welcomed by the college students this year. Some college students express they'd better take no job than do physical labor. They hold the view that college students should take jobs connected with their specialities , and that doing physical labor is no more useful to practice what they learned. It is reported that in Yiwu Industrial & Commercial College, 34.8% students have the working experience of distributin leaflets or promoting a product, 17.4% have done as a private tutor, 16.2% have provided food service, 7% have served at a ceremony , 5% have done as a translateor, 6% have offered domestic service and only 12.2% have no working experience. College students show great enthusiasm on taking jobs on summer vacation.
