A ccording to statistics,Jinhua Customs had received 267,901 declaration forms of Yiwu commodities and about 507,448 standard containers by December 21,2008 . This is the first time that Yiwu commodities containers have exceeded 500,000 in Jinhua Customs . It is a new record in Yiwu exp history .
The global economic unrest caused by American financial storm has brought Yiwu enterprises andcommodities some unneglectable
impacts . However,Yiwu enterprises face the difficulties with practical attitudes and positive measures . For instance,some toy manufacturers, who exported mainly to USA and Europe before the toy quality incident and U . S . subprime mortgage crisis,now reevaluate US and European markets,analyze their problems and difficulties, improve the quality of their toy products,and explore new markets like Russia and Brazil with great efforts .
The statistics show that by the end of November,2008,the turnover of Yiwu export to Brazil in the form of “tourist shopping goods”with customs supervision number 0139 had reached$68 . 50 million,and that to Russia had reached $51 . 38 million ,a huge increase compared with the same period of last year .
According to the analysis ,the countries with an export turnover above $100 million are the following：the United Arab Emirates $259 million,Algeria $146 million ,USA $119 million,India $110 million,Iran $105 million and Ukraine $102 million . In export commodities,bags & cases,plastic decorations,socks,glassware and flashlights are the top five .
The statistics show that the export volume o f Yiwu commodities i n November is the highest,reaching $617 million,followed by that in October, August and September . This shows that although the increase rate of Yiwu export fell because of the inancial crisis, the export of Yiwu market is still on the rise at present . Under the current economic circumstance,cheap commodities with high quality are main options for foreign consumers .
