At 9：30 a.m. on September 9, Zeng Zhaozhi went through all the procedures and got his business license in the registration hall, unknowingly becoming the one-hundred-and-fifty-thousandth entity in Yiwu market. Zeng i s a businessman from Fujian's Quanzhou, dealing in ceramic and crystal products in the district D of the first phase of the International Trade Mart . The figure indicates Yiwu is still one of the areas with the largest entities and the most complex entity structure in China.
Since the beginning of this year, there have been 24, 000 new market entities, with the entities engaged in emerging industries like e-commerce and logistics increased tremendously. As a rising industry, e-commerce has 400 more new entities so far this year, more than the e-commerce entities listed last year, sources with the registration branch of Yiwu administration for industry and commerce said . The internet trading is also growing rapidly with the prosperity of physical market.
In addition, more and more foreign businessmen start their careers and do business in the city whose economy is 65 percent foreign-related . Today, there are over 13, 000 resident foreign businessmen in
Yiwu, as well as 591 overseas-funded enterprises with about 30 percent from China's Hong Kong and
Taiwan. Besides, the city has also attracted 2, 930 resident representative offices of overseas enterprises, with over 5, 000 workers from about 100 countries and regions in the world .
With the recent rapid growth of foreign-invested enterprises and representative offices of foreign
enterprises, Yiwu was granted the rights to register them, thus being the first county-level city in China having such rights . In March this year the first foreign invested partnership enterprise was registered in Yiwu and it was the first one in Zhejiang province. Since then 6 foreign-invested partnership enterprises have registered, which makes Yiwu the city in possession of the largest number of such enterprises in China .
