A foreign merchant was arrested for being suspecting IPR infringement

It is reported from Yiwu customs that together with Hangzhou customs, Yiwu police has tracked down a case of a foreign did IPR infringement in Yiwu under knowing advanced and took fake “NIKE”、 “ADISAS” sports clothes more than 8000 sets. It is the first case about foreigner IPR infringement crime that Hangzhou customs discovered.
July 1, YIwu customs officer found some fake named “NIKE”、 “ADISAS” sports suits and pants 8580 pcs(set) when they checking some products declared as chemical fiber lady’s shirt, man’s pants and hats.
July 20, knowing can not hide for tracing by customs and the visa is overdue, the goods owner showed up to accept inspect. He admitted that he targeted the mark of “NIKE” and “ADISAS” when he bought them. He was detained by Yiwu police on July 23.
 After surveying, the merchant has his own clothes chop in his country and came to purchase in China. He bought fake “NIKE” sports suit for 34 Yuan, pants for 12.5 Yuan and round collar pull-over shirt which is much lower than original ones. He said sports clothes with “NIKE” and “ADISAS” marks were famous in local place.
Luo Xuhong, the minister of Yiwu customs IP Department told the reporter that among the IPR infringement cases, there were many foreign owners. Feb 26, customs tracked down “LEVI’S”、”AEMANI” belts 960 pcs; May 11, they tracked down 120000 fake “BIC” ball pen; June 11, they tracked down 648 pairs “ABERCROMBIE&FITCH” slippers. They have a common feature: having foreign owners.
