Market development provides impetus for logistics According to the person in charge with the transportation sector, the growing market capacity of Yiwu leads to the growing cargo throughput,and therefore promotes the development of logistics industry . At present,there are over 700 road-based logistics enterprises in Yiwu . More than 260 firm sare doing cargo unloading and distribution business and over 450 firms are doing cargo transportation business. The annual road cargo transport volume exceeds 10 million tons and
the business of Yiwu logistics reaches over 260 cities in 31 provinces and regions . Besides, Yiwu runs cargo trains to 7 directions in China . More than 20 large railway stations set transfer stations in Yiwu and the annual cargo throughput of railway reaches 3 . 7 million tons.
And there are more than 100 agencies doing air cargo transportation business in Yiwu.
Last year,the export customs declaration of Yiwu commodities reached 277 thousand,an increase of 17 . 4% on an annual basis . The number of export containers supervised reached 521 thousand TEU,an increase of 24% on an annual basis . These two indicators both created new records in history . Sixty percent of the city’s economy depended on the export
last year,which was another factor that boosted Yiwu logistics .

Blueprint for logistics development takes shape Last year, Yiwu municipal government set the goal for logistic development：speeding up the construction of“Yiwu Port”and creating the regional “logistics highland”. Therefore,Yiwu municipal government issued Some Opinions on Accelerating the Development of Modern Logistics, clarifying its supportive attitude toward the development of logistics.
“The development of Yiwu market has made a big cake of logistics; airfreight,shipping,road transport, post and rail way constituted a three-dimensional logistics network,” said Mr .
Shi,president of the Shanghai Branch of China Railway Container Transport Corporation (CRCT),who is full of confidence on the development of rail logistics. The export-oriented Yiwu economy decided that many export goods need t o be loaded in Ningbo or Shanghai . But the highway from Yiwu to Ningbo is very crowded now; the container trucks always wait in line in Yiwu International Logistics Center . If the railway could perform a betterrole in transport,it would have a positive impact on the environment and traffic .
I t i s learned that CRCT Shanghai Branch and Hengfeng Group will try to integrate railway resources and cooperate to create an international railway logistics route to the Middle East and Europe through Alataw port,Manzhouli port and Erlian port on the basis of domestic logistics development.
Yiwu builds a large logistics networkwith collective efforts It is introduced that Yiwu makes great efforts to build its large port ,road and logistics networks.
The first-stage construction of the inland port has kicked off, which covers an area of more than 1,000 mu with an investment of 2. 86 billion yuan. The pre-construction work of the second stage of the inland port has almost been finished .
And the preparatory work for Yixi Logistics Park is going well . And some projects such as Xiazhu Temporary Cargo Transport Station in Jiangbei are being implemented or planned .
The first public bonded warehouse in Yiwu was approved to set up;the export supervisions in Jinhua,Yiwu and Dongyang were integrated; the global shipping tycoon Maersk started its container business in Yiwu; and the city assisted Zhejiang E-customs company in buiding Zhejiang customs clearance platform as well as Yiwu data processing center, so as to promote the international logistics information exchange.
