On the morning of 18th,the long planned project of the new exhibition venue for International Commodities Fair was commenced,marking a new breakthrough and development opportunity in Yiwu's exhibition industry.
Grand scale To the north of Jiangdong Road, east of Zongze Road and Meihu exhibition center,south of the Yiwu River, the new exhibition venue for the International Commodities Fair is located within the cultural center of Yiwu and near the South ring expressway,the international trade city and the central business area under plan.
The scale of the project is unprecedented, consisting of two projects of exhibition and accommodation respectively. The accommodation project is a five-star hotel. As a whole, the two projects cover an area of 219mu and the total building area is over 296,000 square meters and the total investment is 1.8 billion yuan. And the total building area of exhibition room is over 240,000 square meters which could offer 5256 booths of international standard and the total building area of the supplementary five-star hotel is more than 55,000 square meters which can offer 337 guest rooms.
It is said that the time of completion of the exhibition hall and the supplementary five-star hotel will be staggered with the exhibition hall to be completed and put into service at Yiwu Fair next year and the supplementary five-star hotel by the end of December, 2010.
Modern layout Exhibition is the main function of the project. On the two floors above ground are 10 standard exhibition halls,of which one could be used as dining hall. On the underground floor there are 4 small-scaled exhibition halls and a parking lot . The landscaping and lighting condition here is better than that in the exhibition hall built before and the green cover percentage reaches to 13.7%. The international commodity exhibition consists of five two-floor rectangular halls circling the central square like a fan with a 23 . 3-meter-high reception lobby (or ceremony hall) in the middle,which is quite unique and extraordinary . The main entrance hall of the new exhibition is grand. The new and old exhibitions and the sports center form a harmonious and unified integration .
The five-star hotel is sited at the northwest corner of this area with a 10-meter-wide fire fighting passage through the buildings to the hall. Adequate Practicality Practical functions are the major concerns in the design of the exhibition
halls and its supporting facilities,which are useful in every part and in every respect .
The exhibition halls are the focus of the total design work. It is introduced that all these exhibition halls use integrated design mode to ensure the standardization of each rectangular exhibition hall, so as to keep them not only in the same style but also practical in function. The vision between halls is through, and the upright traffic is reasonable. The exhibition halls keep relatively independent and its fire evacuation function is fairly good .
The exhibition halls are considerately designed with convenient traffic for visitors and automobiles. Entering from the main entrance,the visitors can come into the reception hall first, and then to each exhibition hall and lounge respectively . The VIPs can enter the exhibition halls from both sides of the reception hall,their visiting route is independent and secret . For the throngs of automobiles during the Fair, evacuation exits are available for traffic underground or on the surface to beltways in the west,southeast and north . Also there are underground pathways for transit autos . Meanwhile, there are specialized entrances and freight yards for cargo delivery . The separate parking lots for cars and trucks respectively are
close to the entrances.
It is known that to perfect the traffic in and round the exhibition venue,bus stops are arranged near the exhibition hall on Jiangdong Road and Zongze Road, and a taxi loading area is arranged on one side of the square in front of the exhibition halls.
