On May 15 ,2009 the supervisors of a member enterprise of American Hosiery Industry Association came to Yiwu to negotiate and cooperate with Langsha Group . They were the first guests after Weng Rongjin’s attendance in the 104th annual convention of American Hosiery Industry Association ,who was a representative of China Knitting Industry Association . The deputy director general of China Knitting Industry Association Weng Rongjin said ：“It is the first time for Chinese hosiery industries to attend the annual convention of American Hosiery Industry Association ,which is also the first foreign event of Chinese hosiery industry in the financial crisis . ”
It is learned that Chinese socks cover about 50% of the whole sales in the world and most of the socks are from Yiwu and Zhuji , Zhejiang Province . In the first season this year , Yiwu topped in the export of cotton and chemical fiber socks in the mainly supervised provinces and cities. Due to the huge amount of socks import, petition was raised to the government by the American Hosiery Industry Association in 2004 .
And on October 22,2004,the Bush government granted approval for it and started to lay a ban on socks import from China for one year . On May 12,2005,the socks import has reached the limitation set in October of 2004,so that a ban was laid again on socks import from China .
In the first season this year ,the export of hosiery products to Vietnam , Pakistan and Canada was dozens times more than before .
