Chuan Paiji,business consul of the Consulate of Thailand in Shanghai,told the reporter on April 2 that by taking advantage of China Yiwu Cultural Products Trade Fair (Yiwu Cultural Fair for short),they hope to promote the development of Sino-Thai trade,especially the cooperation with Yiwu market .
He said,“We have reserved 10 booths for exhibiting stationery,home decorations,presents and art works in the fair . Just now, we contacted a large stationery firm in Thailand .”
The Thai enterprises are fond of Yiwu market and have great expectations for the cultural fair .“Yiwu is a very attractive city in China . If a large fair like this can attract more foreign traders,including Thai enterprise,to take part, Yiwu will be further moved to the focus of the world,”Chuan said . Thai enterprises hope their international popularity and business relation with Yiwu market can be promoted by participating in the cultural fair . According to the introduction, Yiwu has exported many goods to Thailand in recent years,including home decorations and daily consumables . It is estimated that Yiwu exports 5 containers of goods to Thailand per month . At present,more than 20 Thais permanently live in Yiwu to purchase commodities .
Chuan suggests that Yiwu can develop its low-end airline industry to minimize the transportation cost and attract more foreigners to Yiwu. He also hopes Yiwu can make great progress in the development of tourism by adding some human landscapes as well as entertainment facilities and restaurants at the international level . So, foreign traders will come here not only to do business , but also to ex perience abundant entertainments with regional characteristics, which may in turn enhance their affection for this city.
