On the morning of May 18,thousands of people at all ages rushed to the West Lake in Hangzhou to welcome the Olympic flame and give support to the people in the quake-hit area . It took 3 and a half hours for 208 torch bearers to finish the torch relay around the West Lake,spreading Olympic spirits in the city known as "paradise on the earth". In the meantime,this torch relay also fully demonstrated the deep love of Zhejiang people for those in the quake area .
On the night of May 21,several thousands of Yiwu residents gathered on Xiuhu Square voluntarily to pray for people in Sichuan quake-hit area by making a heart-shaped design and "5 . 12",which symbolizes the date of the earthquake,with countless candles . They hoped those in quake area could build up confidence and finally conquer the difficulties and rebuild a beautiful homeland .
