From July 1, patent dispute cases that involve less than 5 million yuan and take place in Yiwu can be tried directly at Yiwu People's Court . Yiwu People's Court has been approved to try the patent dispute cases concerning practical ，new and exterior designs in the area under its jurisdiction .
In compliance with the law of civil procedure and related regulation of judicial interpretation, patent dispute cases should be tried by an intermediate court designated by the Supreme Court . Yiwu is regarded as the largest distribution center of small commodities in China and in the world, whose foreign trade proportion of economy reaches 60%. Yiwu is the only county-level city that has the patent complaint service center . In addition, Yiwu has set up the first Famous Brand Protection Union in the country, aiming at protecting the intellectual property right of enterprises . To implement the Outline of the National Intellectual Property Right Strategy, echo and support the right enlargement experiment for strong counties in Zhejiang at the judicial level, Zhejiang Higher People's Court asked for permission to designate Yiwu People' s Court as the court of first instance for trying patent dispute cases, and the Supreme Court approved this .
It is learned that Zhejiang Higher People's Court has trained the related staff of Yiwu People's Court for hearing patent dispute cases in compliance with the requirements of the Supreme Court . Yiwu People's Court will try nine kinds of patent dispute cases in the area under its juris diction, such as patent application dispute involving less than 5 million yuan .
