There is basically no insurance targeting foreigner traders in Yiwu, which makes them fee linsecure.Dehghani Gholamhossein, an Iranian trader who has lived in Yiwu for over seven years, told to the reporter the above words seriously on July 2. And Dehghani is not alone - lots of foreigners in Yiwu have expressed the same or similar point as Dehghani, according to the reporter's interview experiences.
Dehghani owns a foreign trade company named"Yiwu Hamid Trade Co., Ltd.", which focuses on exporting textile, kitchen and bathroom products from Yiwu markets to overseas customers in Dubai and Iran.
"My seven years'stay in Yiwu told me that foreigners in Yiwu could not participate in Social Insurance."Dehghani indicated that as a foreign trader with long experience of doing business in Yiwu, owned a local company, hired several Chinese staff and paid social insurance for all of them, he sadly found out that his family could not participate in this
public scheme."My company bears the full payments of social insurance for my employees, while I know employees in some local companies should pay a percentage of the payments
themselves."Dehghani said that his family were longing for participating in Social Insurance as the Basic Medical is a must for both Chinese and foreigners.
After this conversation, the reporter called Yiwu Social Insurance Office in no time and got a reply that"Foreigners in Yiwu should wait longer for accessing to Social Insurance".
According to Social Insurance Law which came into force as of July 1, 2011, foreigners working in China shall put on social insurance in accordance with provisions of this Law. "As you see, several policy measures relating foreigners accessing to Social Insurance have been announced in our country, and Yiwu social insurance office is still working on the development of relating application. So foreigners in Yiwu should be patient.
"A principal in Yiwu Social Insurance Office said that foreigners should feel free to refer to them for details.
