According to sources , on March 6 , the Standard of Handicraft-Picture Frame Industry Association, jointly worked out by Zhejiang Institute of Standardization and other units, led by Yiwu Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision and assisted by Yiwu Handicrafts Industry Association, was going to apply for the promotion to be a state standard for the handicraft-picture frame industry . As the first standard of handicraft-picture frame industry association at the municipal level in China , this standard starts to take a new stride after its accreditation on February 28.
It is learned that the handicraft industry in Yiwu rose from the early 1990s . The main products we reframes, flowers ,potteries and crystals. With years of development, the handicraft industry has become one of the pillar industries in Yiwu and lots of large enterprises have been brought forth in the market , such as Huahong Holding Group Co.,Ltd, Wang bin Frame,
Xianrong Arts and Crafts , Hangbin Imitation Plants Production Co.,Ltd, etc.
Nowadays ,the development pattern of Yiwu handicraft industry featuring “ focusing on market and combining field and street ” has been initially taken shape . In this industry , there are over 1 , 800 manufacturers and over 5 ,000 business entities ,as well as a total of 60,000 square meters of businessarea and over 200 ,000 people employed . Yiwu handicraft industry covers all kinds of handicraft product sat home, with frames , decorative crafts , Christmas gifts and artificial
plants as the main products .
“With the fast pace of economic globalization,the key to success in the market competition is not the conventional visible
capital,but the innovation capacity with high technology at its core . Standard is the platform of technology innovation and an important way to optimize production and improve efficiency as well . The Standard of Handicraft-Picture Frame Industry Association was issued under such a situation,” said the director of Yiwu handicraft industry association Gong Pinzhong on March 5 .
It is learned that the relevant terms,definitions,classification, technology requirements, experiment methods,inspection
regulations,packages and labels could all be found in the Standard of Handicraft-Picture Frame Industry Association .
