Paying tariffs on line is becoming the first choice for more and more foreign trade enterprises . They don't have to come and go between the customs and banks. According to statistics from Hangzhou Customs,about 90% of the total tariffs are paid on the internet by enterprises. Online pay was put forward by the Customs in 2002. Tian Bin,director of document examination department of Hangzhou Custom,said that in the past online tariffs made up only 3% but now it has grown to be 90%.
It is learned that 14 banks and more than 1000 enterprises have signed for this business.
Statistics show that from January to May this year Hangzhou Customs has online tariffs 12.89 billion yuan,accounting for 86 . 36% of the total amount,an increase of 220% over the same period of last year . In the month of May,duties paid on the internet reached 2 . 52 billion yuan,surpassing the taxaion amount by 90% for the first time.
